Bozeman Boulder Expansion

Anyone strolling down Langhor Trail near the community gardens has certainly ambled over to the artificial bouldering rock, nicely situated next to the rambling creek, and given their fingers a bit of a work out. Children and adults alike have been enjoying this community feature, and a dedicated group of climbers and community members, along with the Bozeman Parks and Recreation department, are expanding this idea into a series of boulders around town that are a reflection of the community they reside in.
The next boulder installment will be located near the Gallatin Valley Mall at the Bozeman Pond. Ross Lynn, Whit Magro, and Pat Wolfe, all three of whom are avid climbers in the valley, are currently welding the new boulder, approximately one-third larger than the original. After welding is complete, the structure will then be moved to the site and covered in concrete to create the cracks and holds of a real boulder.

The city of Bozeman needs another $5,000 to finish the creation of this community fixture. It also needs donations of concrete and manpower to move and apply the concrete. Tax-deductable donations can go to: City of Bozeman Treasurer (include note that it is for the Climbing Rock) Attn: Laurae Clark, PO Box 1230, Bozeman, MT 59715-1230.
