Folk on the Water

In homage to the days of Lewis & Clark, the 48th annual Yellowstone Boat Float will launch the morning of July 8 from Livingston and continue downstream—covering 95 miles of historic river bottom—to Laurel by July 10. This three-day, two-night event follows the same route Meriwether Lewis and William Clark took (albeit downstream) with planned portages at Big Timber for live music and Reed Point for a little street dancing. During this float, hundreds of participants celebrate their community and summer in what is likely the biggest party on water. From homemade rafts to prohibitively expensive jet boats, if it floats, then it can be found on the mighty Yellowstone River in early July.
