At the mouth of Bridger Canyon is the landmark “M” created by Montana State University students in 1915. There are two routes to the M from the trailhead. For a steep and direct ascent, continue straight/right at the first junction; for an easier and longer ascent, take a hard left. This trail is close to Bozeman and very popular.

Directions: Follow Rouse Ave. north (becomes Bridger Canyon Rd.). After a few miles, turn left into the signed parking area, which is just before a narrow constriction between the Bridgers and the Story Hills.

A quintessential trek in Bozeman, there's a reason it's the most popular day hiking destination. I prefer to take the scenic route, but there is a tougher way to get to the top.

The view of the valley is amazing. You'll see lots of other hikers, mountain bikers, and dogs, because it's very popular with visitors and locals.

It's a classic, so it's crowded. But the views of the valley are great and it is fun to look down over the city. Go in the evening.

Something every student and Bozeman resident should do at least once. It's super popular but for good reason because the valley below is worth seeing.

Are there bears around this time of year on the trail? I know its a busy trail but it is Montana and they are waking up hungry ..!

What's your take?

So, what do you REALLY think?
Have pics of this place? Toss 'em in here! Keep it clean, though, this is a G-rated establishment!
