Welcome All
As Montana anglers, we sometimes take river access for granted. Not so for the Public Land/Water Access Association, whose goal is to inform the public of access and ownership rights so that our state’s amazing rivers can be enjoyed by all. The PLWA monitors land sales, assessing conservation and recreational values before any transfers are made; they also take action when private landowners illegally prevent access to public land and waterways. And they’re serious about it—these are the guys who spearheaded the infamous case against billionaire James Cox Kennedy after he blocked off the Ruby River (see our Fall 2015 issue). This type of commitment to the greater good is what ensures our rivers will remain ours, not the private playground of an elite minority. For more information, visit plwa.org.
