Cooler weather, dry conditions, and a svelte summer bod make a great combo for fall races. There are a few key running events every Bozemanite should consider when the thermometer starts its yearly plunge.

October
Opera Bozeman run – 10 miler, 5k, and 1-mile kids’ run. Runners will be serenaded at various venues by singers in costumes and Viking hats. runmt.com.

Back to Bridger Run – choose from six different distances, from 17.5 to 1.5 miles, all finishing at the base of Bridger Bowl. winddrinkers.org.

Halloween Costume Run – 1.1, 3.0, and 5.4-mile runs, prizes for best costumes. winddrinkers.org.

November
Jim Banks Turkey Trot – 2.7 and 4.4-mile runs, free turkey prizes. winddrinkers.org.

Bon Appetite fun run – run any distance and go to breakfast afterwards. winddrinkers.org.

Huffing for Stuffing – 10k, 5k (timed and untimed), and a kids’ run. “Smoke the Turkey” in the 5k and win a prize. huffingforstuffing.com.
