Explore Bozeman's trails and support GVLT.
It’s no secret that Bozemanites travel far and wide in search of outdoor adventure. But what about our own back yard? As any kid knows, there’s plenty of fun to be had right here at home—which is what the Southside Saturdays trail-exploration event is all about. This spring, hike, run, or ride the Main Street to the Mountains trail system on the south side of town, in support of the Gallatin Valley Land Trust (GVLT), the organization responsible for the creation and maintenance of these trails.
Here’s how it works: fuel up beforehand (or re-fuel afterward) at Sola Café on the corner of Kagy and S. 3rd, and they’ll donate a dollar of each meal purchased to GVLT. Take a photo with the spring issue of Outside Bozeman while on the trail, and we’ll donate a dollar to GVLT. That’s two bucks toward our local trails and open-space efforts, all for getting out and having some fun on Bozeman’s south side.
The event kicks off at Sola on Saturday, May 10 at 10am; Outside Bozeman and GVLT will be there passing out trail maps and other information, and Sola will have coffee and treats on hand to help you power through the day. Continue to explore the trails every Saturday through June, snapping photos and stopping at Sola for breakfast or lunch, and keep the funds flowing to GVLT. Event details and a photo-submission form can be found at outsidebozeman.com/community/contests. Now get outside, and hike, run, or ride the south side!
