E. Gallatin Clean Up

Sick of seeing grocery bags wrapped around tree limbs as you’re casting for trout? How about those empty Budweiser cans bobbing alongside your boat? If you prefer our local streams waste-free, then join the Gallatin Valley Wad’n Women for a river clean up on Sunday, April 27th. The first-annual event will take place on the East Gallatin River and includes a post-clean-up barbeque at the Bozeman Beach with free food and beverages.

The Wad’n Women are a motivated troop of female fly-fishers, and they’ve organized the clean up as a spring kick-off, community get-together, and a good-deed opportunity all in one. Everyone is invited to participate, so bring as many friends as you can muster. After meeting at the Bozeman Beach, teams of four to five people will head out with their own sections of river to clean. Motivated trash-pickers may discover greater rewards than just altruistic elation—prizes will be awarded for most trash, weirdest piece of rubbish, and best find on the river. Dig a fly box out of the brush, and you may end up scoring double.

Participating groups include Montana Troutfitters, Montana Whitewater, Greater Yellowstone Flyfishers, Bozeman Angler, Rocky Creek Outfitters, Mountain Surf Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, County Market, and Outside Bozeman.
