G3 Guide Boots—Simms

I am one of the clumsiest waders I know. I’ve always blamed my lack of grace on poor balance and overexcitement, but after trying the Simms G3 Guide Boots I now blame past stumbles on my old wading boots. The boots immediately instilled confidence when I plunged my Simms stocking foot waders inside—I wanted to run across the river. With the stability of a ski boot, especially around the midsole, the G3 boots kept my inadvertent acrobatics to a minimum. I didn’t even notice jagged rocks under the sole thanks to the burly 7/16” high-density felt. At 48 ounces, these boots are some of the lightest Simms produces. And unlike other boots that fill with water quickly, the G3’s neoprene lining and waterproof full-grain leather upper keeps the water in the river. Six vent holes drain any interior water quickly. Despite the brass, hiking-boot-style lacing, I would have liked more ankle support near the top of the boot. However, I barely worried about a rolled ankle because I didn’t slip or splash in these boots. In fact, I had the stealth of a coyote. simmsfishing.com
