Where to get good food around Bozeman.

Even better than organic food at the Co-op and Rosauer's is local food from your friends and neighbros around southwest Montana. Plenty of options exist these days, both for member shares from local farms, and weekly shopping at farmers' markets. Here's a rundown.

CSA programs offer direct sales of food from producer to consumer, typically weekly, throughout the producing season. Here are some local options:

  • Amaltheia Organic Dairy. Organic goat cheese and organic pork. amaltheiadairy.com.
  • Field Day Farms. Produce. fielddayfarms.com.
  • Gallatin Valley Botanical. Produce. gallatinvalleybotanical.com.
  • Sabo Ranch. Grass-fed, hormone-free Devon and Jersey beef. saboranch.com.
  • Three Hearts Farm. Produce, cut flowers, and eggs. threeheartsfarm.com.
  • Wayward Raven Farm. Produce. [email protected].
  • Willow Spring Ranch. Certified organic, grass-fed lamb. montanaorganiclamb.com.
  • 3 Fiddles Farm. Produce and fresh herbs. [email protected].

And beginning in June, farmers’ markets begin to sprout up around southwest Montana; most run into September:

  • The market at Bogert Park runs every Tuesday from 5-8pm.
  • The Gallatin Valley Farmers’ Market runs 9am to noon every Saturday, at the Gallatin Co. Fairgrounds.
  • In Ennis, Madison Farm-to-Fork sponsors a market every Saturday from 9am to noon.
  • On Thursday from 4-7, head to Lewis & Clark Park in Belgrade.
  • Big Sky now has a farmers' market, held every Wednesday evening at Fire Pit Park.
